Cedar Creek Recreation Area is one of Ruidoso's easiest-to-access trail systems, conveniently located just off Mechem Drive (Hwy 48). With various multi-use (hike, bike, equestrian) trail lengths and difficulties starting in town, a picnic shelter, and three group campsites, Cedar Creek is a great place for the whole family and an outing in Lincoln National Forest.
Hiking and biking are among the most popular activities here, with options like the T90 Fitness Trail and the T121 and T121A biking trails. The fitness trail extends for 1.3 miles and includes exercise stations where visitors can do pull-ups and similar workouts.
Explore a series of trails in this area that are surrounded by a lush display of wildflowers. It's a great spot for a leisurely hike with frequent flower sightings along the path.
